Commented Issue: WSS not installed correctly error on installing web part [23517]

I have installed WSS 3 SP2 on windows2k3 R2 SP2 x64.
I have my moodle and my sharepoint site both on this server and both are working.
Installing the MIS web service is successful and I can get to the MoodleWebService.asmx.
Installing the MIS Web Parts fails with the attached error

Hi All,

I have Implemented this successfully.
For this I have follow the following steps.
1. Install Server 2003 32 bit.
2. Install .NET framework 1.1, 2.2, 3.5
3. Install WSS 3.0 (Sharepoint.exe).
4. Install Moss 2007 (OfficeServer.exe).
5. Install Mysql ODBC on Moss machine and test connection withe moodle machine (Mysql).
6. Enable LDAP on Moodle and test it properly.
7. Now Install MIS for ODBC on Moss machine.
Now test it. It is working.

I get an error message asking for .Net framework version 1.1.4322. .Net version 4 was already installed on this server.

I would like to install and configure the web service manually and then install the web parts manually. I believe this is more of a problem with the installer.

Are there any intructions on setting up the web service manually for these web parts and where all the configuration settings go?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance,

Hello Fraser,

Thanks again for your posting. I wanted to keep the dialogue going as I hope this will prove useful for others working on this in the future. Regarding the modifications to the webparts I've downloaded the source code and begun to try to modify the code with some of the changes mentioned above. The big one is the hidden courses as teachers usually keep the courses hidden as they are working on adding content until the semester begins. So students seeing them in the webpart and then clicking on them may be confusing since they wouldn't yet have access in Moodle. The others are cosmetic. I'll keep you posted when we have had a chance to make changes and recompile.

Regarding the link above you sent for NTLM. This is great and I sent this up and it works from within the network (on the specific internal subnets I specify in the LDAP settings). Does anyone on here use this currently? I see the big limitation of this as the fact that users from the outside network who login to Sharepoint won't be able to use this for SSO and that is likely to be a majority of the traffic. Is anyone using any methods that allow off campus SSO when a user clicks on one of the course names in the webparts? If so how?

I don't know about the hidden courses but this might be what you need for SSO.
